Claud C. Calmes

Claud C. Calmes passed away at Haven Hospice, Gainesville, FL on May 23, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 80 years of age. 

Claud was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Moody) Calmes. He is survived by two brothers, Allen Calmes, who resides in Thailand and Lonnie Calmes of Tuscon, Arizona; his second wife of twelve years, Alma (Weaver) Calmes; and five children: his daughter Lynn Linville of Fayetteville, Georgia (and her husband Mark), daughter Gayle Spelman of Tallahassee, Florida (and her husband Mike), son Randy Calmes of Fort Myers, Florida, daughter Karen Dahl of Burlington, Wisconsin (and her husband Charles), and son David Calmes of Wind Lake, Wisconsin (and his wife Joy Calmes). Claud had ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Claud attended Greenville High School (SC), and Georgia Tech University, where he prepared for a lifelong career as an electronics engineer, from which he was retired. He was a man of deep faith and was always actively involved in the local church. He most recently worked with a nursing home ministry through New Hope Christian Church, Fort Myers, FL. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, who will be missed but remembered by his family.
