New Hope Christian Church
Our History

On May 6, 2001, New Hope Christian Church was founded by a unamimous vote of like believers. On this day, 27 like believers stepped forward to be a part of this new church. Before this vote, believers met for three weeks in Bible study and prayer seeking God's direction. These were held at the home of Johnny and Dixie French. Several months before this, Tracy Hansen, the minister to be, was approached about starting a study for a few people of the Bayshore District of North Fort Myers, where he was serving as Fire Commisioner. The decision was made to make a move, and the groundwork was set. The Bayshore Community Association offered the use of a building, which was in disrepair. The people met in a cleanup-painting effort and it was decided to hold the first service on Sunday, April 29th 2001 at the Bayshore Fire House meeting room. On that day, 51 believers met, sang, broke bread and worshipped God. On May 6th, 2001 God moved and New Hope was established and ready to put its effort into Kingdom Building. In May, 2006, New Hope was able to purchase the building and make it the home of New Hope Christian Church. Today, we have about 142 members. New Hope has stood as a beacon of Hope, Refuge, and Healing in a world torn and dark. Only God knows what is in store for this small part in his Kingdom, but New Hope is here faithfully following his lead, and showing those lost the Way.
